What were some of the main successes this year? One the greatest successes was achieving the implementation of the (spiritual) program in the school. Seeing the students actively participate and share what they learned with their peers and families was very encouraging. We also celebrated that several teachers showed interest in supporting the program and learning themselves.
What was the most challenging thing this year? One of the biggest challenges was that not all children were attending classes at the beginning, which made it difficult to generate a steady pace of learning. In addition, the weather often forced classes to be canceled.
What has surprised you about this year? We were pleasantly surprised by the receptivity of the students. Many of them shared how the teachings are impacting their personal lives, including their family relationships. It was also unexpected to see how some of them took on leadership roles in group activities.
What are you most looking forward to next year? We hope that the program will strengthen and grow. We dream of more students getting involved and that the impact transcends the classroom to transform lives and families. In addition, we want to train more teachers so that they too can be an active part of this movement.
What are the objectives/goals for the program next year? Our goals include developing a more structured curriculum, increasing available resources, and organizing special activities such as workshops or spiritual camps. We also want to focus efforts on measuring the impact of the program to continuously improve.
What is the current need for the program? Currently we need teaching materials, such as Bibles, colored paper, markers, crayons, pencils, school supplies for the students, since many of them due to their limited resources cannot buy their own materials.
How can we be praying? Pray that the leaders in Jicamapa continue to have hearts full of passion and wisdom to guide the students. Pray for the students as well, that God will continue working in their lives and motivate them to have a personal relationship with Him. Lastly, pray for provision and support so that the program can continue to expand and bless more lives.
